Shasta College’s Economic and Workforce Development Division (EWD) provides a wide range of exceptional services to the business community, individuals seeking short-term career training, courses/programs for self improvement/interest, and grant funded services targeting regional economic improvement.
Small Business Development Center
SBDC consultants work with business clients in a confidential, one-on-one relationship. Consultants offer their guidance and expertise to help build better businesses. We also offer special programs for start-up businesses. Taught by SBDC Business Consultants and experts in various fields, the SBDC’s low-cost informative seminars and workshops are designed to give small business owners immediate knowledge they can put into action in running their businesses. Each business has its own particular needs that the SBDC recognizes by offering specialized services and programs. Information is vital in today’s business world! The Shasta Cascade SBDC offers information resources for small business by providing a computer with Internet access, Internet websites, and referral lists. In addition, we serve as a link to other public and private sector organizations and programs.
Shasta College Degrees and Certificates
Shasta College offers more than 100 Associate Degrees and certificates, as well as other training opportunities through individual classes or through our Community Education and Business & Industry Training programs. Each year, approximately 850 degrees and certificates are earned by students through Shasta College. Shasta College awards both the Associate in Arts degree and the Associate in Science degree. The College also offers several Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT). Students who are awarded these degrees are guaranteed admission with junior standing somewhere in the CSU system and given priority admission consideration to their local CSU campus or to a program that is deemed similar to their community college major.
